add 7/8 to both sides
x = 3/4+7/8 = 13/8

given         x-7/8 = 3/4
              bring -7/8 to right hand side then it becomes +7/8        
                  x = 3/4+7/8
               on right hand side  L.C.M for 4,8 is 8
            hence 1st term on right side is 3*2/4*2 = 6/8        [making the denominator equal to 8]
                      2 nd term on right hand side is 7*1/8*1=7/8  
                 hence x= 6/8+7/8
                          x= (6+7) / 8   [ since denominators are equal numerators are added]
                         ∴x= 13/8
