The Academic Advisory Committee was created to provide feedback, insight and recommendations to help Cramster achieve the following goals:
Cramster strives to provide academic material to students in a useful manner that promotes understanding and learning
Cramster strives to align itself with the needs, goals, and values of educators and academic institutions
Cramster strives to be innovative in the use of educational technology

Background

Cramster's Academic Advisory Committee launched in June 2009 and is comprised of leading educators and researchers, including Educational Psychologist John Sweller and Pace University Dean and Professor Dr. David Sachs. The purpose of the Academic Advisory Committee is to help shape Cramster in a way that benefits both students and educators alike. Bios

David Sachs
David Sachs

David Sachs is Associate Dean of Pace University's School of Computer Science and Information Systems, where he is also a Professor of Technology Systems. In addition to supervising the Pace Computer Learning Center, Sachs advises educators and administrators on how to effectively incorporate technology in the classroom. Sachs brings to the Academic Advisory Committee extensive experience with the development of asynchronous learning models, and will surely help Cramster.com become a more effective asynchronous learning community.

David Sachs
John Sweller

John Sweller is a leading researcher and prominent figure in the field of Educational Psychology. Sweller is credited with the theory of cognitive load, which deals with the limitations of working memory during instruction. Sweller is Professor Emeritus at the School of Education, University of New South Wales, and is a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia
