Two 2 x 8 boards are attached together by screws that are spaced at regular intervals Δx = 12 in. along the length of the beam to form the inverted tee beam shown below:

Each screw has an allowable shear-force capacity of V_s= 480 lb. If the beam supports a single concentrated load P at the center and is simply supported, what is the maximum allowable load P?
