     1 minitue =60 seconds
                   =3(20) seconds
      number of  heartbeats in 20 sec is 29
    so the  number heartbeat in 1 min (3(20) sec)  is 3(29)=87
          heartbeat per minitue is 87.

As the question asks for Heartbeats per minute, simply convert seconds to minutes as follows:

20 seconds / 60 seconds 
=1/3 minutes.

29 heartbeats / (1/3 minutes) = 29 heartbeats * 3 = 87 heartbeats per minute.

To find the answer for this you need to find out how many times 20 seconds goes into 60 seconds.  To do this you need to divide 60 by 20, or 6020=3.  So you now know that 20 seconds goes into 60 seconds 3 times. Now that you know this you need to multiply 29 by 3 (29x3=your answer) to get your answer for how many beats per minute, for 29 beats in 20 seconds.
