A
1 kg block moving along the x-axis has a velocity of 2m/s at x=0. It is subject to the force shown in the following graph. Use this information to answer the following questions.

1) The block maintains a constant speed from x=1 m to x=2 m.

2) The block speeds up from x=3 m to x=4 m.

3) The block is moving at a higher speed at 3 m than at 0 m.

Response Details:
1. False. Since between x = 1 and 2, the force is not zero, so acceleration is not zero. speed should increase.
2.
False
since from x=3 to x=4, the force is negative, so the acceleration is also negative (decreasing)
so the speed is decreasing during this.
3.
TRUE
since between  x= 1 and 3, the force is positive so as the acceleration, it speed up during this time
so at x = 3, the speed is higher than at x = 0
