A series RLC circuit has a inductive reactance of 4 Ω and a capacitive reactance of 1/4 Ω.  By what factor should the AC frequency be changed to put this circuit into resonance?

b. 1/4
c.  1/2
d.  this circuit cannot be made to achieve resonance

Inductive reactance  X = Lw = 4 ohm
Capacitive reactance  X ' = 1/ Cw = 1/ 4 ohm
The condition for resonance is  X = X '
But in this problem  X is not equal to X '.So, this circuit cannot be made to achieve resonance
