PASADENA, Calif., - Oct. 6, 2008 - One Boston Area student recently got
the surprise of a lifetime, to the tune of $1,500.
Jameillah S. Newhouse, of Curry College in Massachusetts, was chosen at
random as the winner of Cramster.com's Cash For College Giveaway. As
the winner, she received $1,500 to be used for the various school
expenses she encounters.
The contest was held at CollegeFest, a Boston event that attracts over
10,000 college-aged students each year. Cramster.com hosted a booth
that served as the contest entry location.
"I was hesitant to enter at first because I rarely win prizes, but I
decided to go for it," says Newhouse. "A few days later, I was informed
that I had won the contest. Before I knew it, the check came!"
Newhouse is a junior at Curry College, where she is studying
Psychology. She plans to use the money toward student loans and
textbooks.
Winning the contest hasn't only helped Jameillah financially – it also
introduced her to the many benefits of Cramster.com. "The website seems
really helpful for students," says Newhouse, who seems intent on
spreading the message. "If I were you, I'd check it out and sign up for
Cramster.com!"
After its CollegeFest premier, Cramster.com hopes to bring the Cash for
College Giveaway to similar events around the country, reaching as many
students as possible.
"The Cash for College Giveaway helps students with their
education-related finances," said President and Co-Founder Robert
Angarita. "We're happy to provide that help. After all, Cramster.com
was created to help students succeed."
